Life and Love
As I am laying in my bed last night, contemplating some unfortunate news about someone I care about very much, I am tempted to let my heart get hard, after all... "nobody's gonna hurt me again" is going through my mind.. but then it hit me...The degree to which you can be hurt directly correlates with the degree to which you can love? It takes someone brave to let their heart remain open and not put up psychological walls and to accept that they might be hurt again...but if you don't hurt again, you will not love again either and you will be unwilling to take a chance and put your heart/emotions on the line...
In life i'll try to keep that in mind

Deadlift
Ahhh yes, the real test of true strenght, the combination of all the major muscle groups, the lift that makes men's hearts fail and the casual lifter call it quits. I have to admit, I have not been faithful in my deadlift over the years, mostly due to the fact that I injured my tailbone in highschool and everytime I did the lift I could feel the pain for the next week. Recently I attempted to throw deadlift into my friday (Full Body) routine and I did real light weight, just trying to get back into it. After I had finished, it felt real good, almost as if I had reuinted with an old friend. New excitment has come into my bones as I feel like new gains are to be made with this new exercise thrown into my arsenal. More mass to be gained, More strength to be made, and more tests to defeat, that better bring their "A" game because I sure am... Keep you posted on my deadlift experience.

Call of Duty 6....Tuesday Back and Biceps
Last night was monday night, I begrudingly went with my friends to game stop so they could get their own copies of the latest in the Call of Duty series, I personally don't understand the big deal as far as multiplayer goes, however the single player campaign is what intrigues me. The graphics on the game are incredible, and the campaign is like watching a movie, and having an actual effect on the outcome, even if it is predetermined, you as the player are essential to the story.....All this to say, we stood in line at game stop for an hour and half and I bought a copy, hoping to make a savvy business deal, no I personally did not pre-order the game, but I was hoping some poor soul who came late and just had to have it that night and did not pre-order the game would be willing to buy the game, so I gave my sales pitch, a few scoffed, a few did not reply, but essentially I said, "80 dollars for the game, better buy it now, they are running out for folks who did not pre-order" ....no one bought it. The mark-up price is 20 dollars more than the actual game, priced at 60 dollars, I however found a "buyer" at school, for 65 dollars, I know it was not much, but at least I don't have to make the trip back to the game stop.
Today, even though I slept until noon, I was very tired for my workouts. I think it is becuase I stayed up so late the night before.

Hello World...
Who am I?, Silas Schulte, why do I lift weights? Because I no longer play football, and I still have a competitive drive that can not be quenched, because I want to be large, because I love to be strong, because I am an athlete still, and maybe even because I have a mild case of "short man syndrome", I dont know, but I know one thing, that at the end of the day, after I put it all on the line, I can look myself in the eye in the mirror and know I put in a hard days work, for my health and for my future.
Why am I here? I'm here for one reason and one reason only, to write a blog that not only inspires many to fight on for their size, strength, or both, goals but to write about life as an undersized college student in the lifting game and in life.
What am I? I am a fairly decent specimen for the iron game, short arms, short legs, good genetics, exceptional strength to size ratio but not excellent, not even great, but good, nothing more, nothing less. I am 5'7'' 165 lbs currently, I have peaked at 175lbs. My Best lifts are Bench Press- 303lbs (Oct 25 2009) Squat - 405 for 3 reps and Hang Clean - 250 for 5 reps. I don't dead lift, because I will have trouble walking for a few days after, as it puts unusual strain on my tailbone. This is unfortunate because I love the idea and the muscle gaining properties that dead lift adds.
